The White House has been insistent on Biden seeking a second term. Back in March, Biden told the country he has every intention of pursuing a second term during the 2024 presidential election.
Earlier this month, the White House also reiterated that Biden is planning to go for another four years once he’s up for re-election.
Should the 46th president choose to seek another term, it’s unclear precisely what he would run on. His term, thus far, has caused a series of problems that will take years to undo.
In an interesting turn, Biden appears to be walking back his previous guarantees that he’d be seeking re-election in 2024. Earlier this week, the 46th president laid out conditions for another run, as Fox News points out.
Biden Walking Back Promises to Run?
On Wednesday, the president told ABC News that his choice to seek a second term in 2024 will be determined by his health. Biden stated if he’s in good health, he will proceed with plans to run for office.
The 46th president was also asked about whether or not he would run for a second term in the White House if Trump turns out to be the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nominee.
BREAKING: Biden now says he may not be able to run in 2024 if his health declines due to “fate”

Biden laughed, questioning why a rematch with Trump would deter him in any way. Then, the president claimed that a potential 2.0 with Trump would increase the likelihood of him going for a second term.
Ultimately, Biden stated “fate” would have the final say in his health and thus his choice to run or not to run in 2024.
Reactions to Biden’s ABC News Interview
Many Americans reacted with amusement, due to Biden’s claims that the state of his health will determine if he goes for a second term. Amid coughing fits and various unintelligible claims from Biden, the state of his health is in question now.
Some people believe Biden needs to take a cognitive test and then show the nation the results. Let’s also not forget that during the 2020 presidential election, Biden spent a good amount of time literally campaigning from his basement.
Okay! I'm okay!
I just fell off the couch when I heard Joe Biden say if he were in the good health he is now, if he was in good health like now, he'd run again in 2024.
Call the nursing home & make a reservation! 🤣😂

Then, when Biden first got into office, he put off having direct press conferences for as long as possible. When the 46th president couldn’t delay this any longer, he was seen carrying flashcards and behaving strangely when asked tough questions by reporters.
Already, less than one year into Biden’s current term, there’s a sizable percentage of Americans who do not believe he will make it until 2024, let alone be able to run for a second term.
