Biden in Big Trouble with Dem Voters, But So is Trump, Poll Finds

Only about a third of Democratic and left-leaning voters would like to see Biden run for reelection in 2024, according to the results of a new public opinion poll.

This same poll shows former President Trump also isn’t as popular with Republicans as he was when he got the party’s 2020 presidential nomination.

According to a new poll by ABC News and The Washington Post, only 35% of Democrats and left-leaning Independents would like Joe Biden to be the nominee.

At the same time, more than half – or 56% – would prefer another candidate to replace soon-to-be-80 Sleepy Joe.

The survey confirms speculations within the Democrat Party that Biden would simply be too old, too unpopular, or both – in order to clinch the 2024 presidential nomination.

While Trump is still clearly far more popular with Republicans and right-leaning Independents than Biden is with the lefties, the pollsters claim that there is reason for POTUS 45 to be concerned.

According to their findings, right-wing voters are “evenly split” on the prospects of Trump running for the White House again in 2024, with 47% in favor of his candidacy and 46% against it.

The pollsters emphasize that this level of support is 20 percentage points lower than what Trump had back in 2020 when he got nominated for reelection.

Newsom Claims to Be Out of 2024 and Even 2028

The results from the survey allege that a potential Biden vs. Trump run in 2024 would be similar to the 2020 election.

Their results show Biden would win 48% of the popular vote, and Trump – 46%, meaning it would be too close to call a categorical victory for one of the two potential White House bidders.

If only registered voters are counted in, the result is the reverse – 48% for Trump, compared with 46% for Biden.

The pollsters note further the rise of Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis as a nationally recognized political figure is eating into Trump’s own popularity.

Earlier in September, a poll by Reuters and Ipsos on the upcoming midterm elections found 37% of US voters would back candidates of the Democrat Party, while 34% would vote for Republicans. Another 15% said they were undecided.

Meanwhile, over the weekend, one of the main hopefuls for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination, California Governor Gavin Newsom, claimed he is not going to run for the White House – not in 2024 and not even in 2028.

Newsom was speaking on a trip to Texas where he attacked Governor Greg Abbott for trying to defend his state from Biden’s tsunami of more than five million illegal immigrants.

Earlier last week, Newsom even called his Texas counterpart “dumb” for refusing to be woke like himself.

While Newsom has been challenging FloridaGovernor DeSantis to debate him on national television, he now declared he has no plans “at all” to run for president in 2024 or in 2028.

“No, not happening,” Newsom said, as cited by The Daily Mail.
