Biden Official’s BIZARRE Reason for Releasing Russian Arms Dealer

A top official of President Joe “Bad Deal” Biden’s White House offered the American public a highly bewildering explanation of why the US government released Russian arms trafficker Viktor Bout, aka “the merchant of death,” to free woke WNBA player Brittney Griner.

Even Top Dems Blast Biden for Shameful Prisoner Swap

Bad Deal Joe shocked the western world when, last week, he swapped one of the most dangerous men in the world, global arms smuggler Viktor Bout, for Griner, an America-hating LGBT basketball player.

Griner was arrested in February for carrying 0.7 grams of cannabis oil at a Moscow airport and was sentenced to nine years in prison.

The murderous regime of Russia’s bloodthirsty dictator Vladimir Putin used her semi-celebrity status and importance to American Marxists-Communists to twist America’s arms.

As the Biden administration is being run by the radical woke left, Putin succeeded in freeing Viktor Bout, a man who facilitated the assassinations of western troops and civilians.

While Bout posed as a “freelancer,” Ukrainian commentators and Russian opposition journalists say he must have been working for GRU, the Russian military intelligence.

This is when he supplied massive arsenals of Soviet arms to the Taliban in Afghanistan, FARC in Columbia, and other rogue states and terror groups.

Besides swapping Bout for Griner, Joe “Trading the Merchant of Death” Biden also failed to get the Russians to free Paul Whelan, an ex-US Marine imprisoned in Russia on false spying charges.

Ever since the exchange, which even Democratic Senator Bob Menendez called “a deeply disturbing decision,” the Biden administration has been struggling to explain it, piling one piece of nonsense on top of another.

National Security Spokesman John Kirby, a retired Navy admiral, was the latest top White House official to make no sense whatsoever.

‘He Was Getting Out in 2029 Anyway. We Just Sped It Up!’

In a Fox News interview on Sunday, Kirby even admitted Kabul Joe’s administration wasn’t exactly happy that it released Bout. However, Kirby used the dumbfounding justification that the Soviet arms smuggler was going to be set free anyway “eventually.”

Kirby was referring to the day when Bout’s 25-year sentence would have expired, making it clear he and his boss consider the serving of lawful court sentences unnecessary or perhaps a political complication.

Instead, he dwelled on how Bout’s sentence would have been completed in 2029 and then he would have walked a “free man.” Kirby pointed out the Russian merchant of death had “just” been released six years ahead of schedule.

Interestingly enough, Biden’s national security spokesman didn’t think of mentioning that Brittney Griner’s sentence in Russia would also have ended eventually in nine years.

Kirby puzzlingly ranted about how “this was the deal” the Biden administration managed to secure from the Russians and the current time was “the moment” it managed to do that.

The retired Navy admiral also alleged the administration performed a “national security assessment” and concluded any risks created by Bout’s release were “manageable.”

Never mind a decade ago, the Obama administration declared him one of the world’s most dangerous men. That is why, Kirby claimed, Biden decided it was “OK to make this deal.”

The spokesman failed to reveal what the US government would do if Viktor Bout returned to supplying rogue states and terrorists with contraband weapons.
