During the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden’s campaign was largely based on being a middle-of-the-road moderate Democrat. Biden’s decision to campaign in this regard is what led some centrists and Independents to vote for him.
However, the differences between Biden’s campaign and his presidency are staggering. The 46th president is far from being the middle-of-the-road moderate he presented himself as in 2020.
In fact, Biden is arguably one of the most divisive presidents America’s ever had. He’s inflamed partisan tensions, worsened stresses between vaccinated and unvaccinated people, and otherwise caused a lot of policy problems.
With all this in mind, it’s no wonder the 46th president isn’t doing so well with Independents. In fact, Breitbart News draws attention to a new poll that leaves Biden seriously in the lurch.
What Independent Voters Really Think About Biden
A brand new poll from Morning Consult/Politico just came out on Wednesday.
According to this poll, only 34% of Independents approve of Biden, leaving just 10% who strongly approve. Meanwhile, the president is looking at 55% of Independents who disapprove of his leadership.
Monmouth Poll:

The trend of Independents approving of Biden has gotten lower and lower over the past several months. This president has broken a number of his campaign promises; furthermore, he’s shown his willingness to put the interests of the hard left over the interests of the American people.
Amongst all voters in the United States, Biden also isn’t doing so well, either. Morning Consult/Politico shows that 41% approve, while 55% disapprove.
Bad Timing for the Biden Administration
The significant loss of support that Biden’s incurred from Independent voters comes at a very bad juncture for his administration. Democrats are already projected to lose the midterms, something which no one in the party wants to publicly talk about.
His low approval ratings also come as public sentiment is really starting to rise against the lockdowns, mandates, and restrictions happening in the name of COVID.
Biden has been on record supporting all of these edicts. Meanwhile, even states run by Democrats are starting to roll back these measures. Of course, it doesn’t come as a coincidence that Democrats are doing this with the midterm elections being nine months away.

Despite lackluster support from the American public, Biden continues to do what he’s doing. He also keeps declaring that he’s overperforming and knocking it out of the park as president.
For these reasons and many more, the 46th president can expect to further sink in new polls to come.
