Over the past two years, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has done immense harm both to its own credibility and the credibility of public health officials in general.
The CDC has been at the helm of regularly giving conflicting information when it comes to COVID. At this very moment, the organization is also hiding from the public data regarding how COVID vaccine boosters impact individuals between the ages of 18 and 49.
It’s said that the CDC is concealing this information because they don’t want it to be “misinterpreted” by the public; however, what this really means is the CDC doesn’t want to admit people who believed these boosters were ineffective were correct all along.
If the hidden data showed that boosters were effective in protecting people against COVID, the CDC would be the first ones parading it all over the media.
However, as this organization works to conceal public health information from the American people, they’ve completely reversed course on face masks, as Breitbart News points out.
The Latest from the CDC on Face Masks
At this time, the CDC’s new official position on face masks is that communities with either low risks or medium risks of catching COVID are no longer needing to mask up.
Collectively, this means the CDC says about 70% of the American people don’t have to wear masks any longer.
The CDC also made the argument that during current times, the United States is more equipped with various protective tools to safeguard against coronavirus.

Interestingly enough, however, the CDC hasn’t given the all clear for the federal mask mandate on public transportation to be rolled back.
Apparently, a decision on this matter will be made closer to March 18, the time in which the current mask mandate for public transportation is set to expire.
What Really Changed?
Many Americans were quick to point out that this new guidance from the CDC comes merely days before Biden gives his State of the Union address on March 1.
Other people have opined that what really led to the CDC largely reversing course on masks is poll numbers showing low support for Democrats and various COVID restrictions.
Again, this perception exists because the CDC has largely wounded its own credibility. At the end of the day, people don’t trust public health officials in the ways they used to.
And despite the evidence we now have that universal masking has stunted children’s speech development. The CDC just quietly pushed back the milestones for early childhood development.

This is because, when it comes to COVID, public health officials have broken their own guidelines, engaged in double standards, and been selective about when various measures need to be followed.
When Americans were protesting against shutdowns, public health officials claimed it was a risk and a danger; however, when left-wing Black Lives Matter supporters were rioting in the streets, suddenly, public health officials were nowhere to be found.
