Government overreach always leads to tyranny. Despite the inevitable outcome of this overreach, there are still people who defend it and say it’s necessary in the United States.
One of the most common arguments in favor of government overreach is that it’s for a so-called “greater good.” Hitler also thought the same way. In fact, every tyrant in world history has managed to delude themselves into believing their abominable, authoritarian actions served a “greater good.”
We’re now seeing this materialize and fester. The current White House administration constantly pushes for government to overstep its bounds in the lives of the American people.
Right now, this administration even wants the IRS to track just about every single bank account in the United States. However, a new poll has shown that concerns about government overreach have surged with Biden in office, according to Breitbart News.
The Reality of Government Overreach in the United States
Yesterday, a Gallup poll revealed where Americans stand today on concerns about the government overstepping its bounds. The poll revealed 52% of the country believes government is making decisions that should be left up to businesses and individuals. Another 54% told Gallup that too much power rests in government’s hands.
Majorities of both Republicans (82%) and Independents (59%) share the view that government could use less power. However, only 19% of Democrats harbor this outlook as well.
Let me get this straight: Biden wants the IRS to violate our privacy by collecting info on all financial transactions over $600 so they can stop really rich people from hiding money? Its just Big Brother trying to get more power to snoop on and control regular Americans. https://t.co/ieNkKxn8hk

Polling results about the appropriate roll of government have shifted over the past several decades. However, as a collective, most Americans have preferred a government kept under wraps.
COVID initially changed this; however, the effects of this are wearing off as more concerns about government overreach are now prevalent in the United States. It also speaks volumes that this is yet another matter where Republicans and Independents are largely in agreement.
The Biden Administration’s Role in This
Gallup’s latest poll doesn’t bode well for the Biden administration. This is because the White House continuously embraces measures that increase the role of government in Americans’ lives.
This is a president who wants COVID vaccine mandates; he also wants the IRS overseeing any transactions Americans make that come to $600+ dollars. Likewise, Biden is pushing for spending bills that will increase taxes and decrease wages that Americans are making.
Democrats want to weaponize the IRS to invasively spy on Americans with transactions over $600.
This is unprecedented government overreach. President Biden and Speaker Pelosi are waging a war on American’s privacy.
This cannot stand. I will fight this at every step. pic.twitter.com/O6YDvFuzpd

At the end of the day, the Biden administration is a tyrannical one. The news that more and more Americans are concerned about government overreach could pave the way for Republicans winning the midterms in 2022 and taking back the White House in 2024.
