House Democrats Appear Finished Ahead of 2022 Midterms

According to multiple polls, historical precedent, and the low approval numbers of Joe Biden, the Democrat Party appears slated to lose the midterm elections.

Reports during just this month alone indicate that leaders of the party are preparing its members to lose the impactful, congressional races.

Furthermore, Democrats have not done themselves any favor by attacking members of their party, like Sen. Joe Manchin, for not toeing the line or backing Biden’s agenda without question.

Apparently, some members of the Democrat Party seem to have accepted they’re not going to be in the congressional majority for much longer. This could explain why three additional House Democrats have announced their decision to retire, as Breitbart News reports.

The Downfall of House Democrats

With Democrat Reps. Lucille Roybal-Allard, Stephanie Murphy, and Albio Sires confirming they will not seek another term in the House, there are now 23 House Democrats who have essentially gotten out while the getting is good.

Not only are Democrats in the House struggling to keep their own members from retiring or leaving for other offices, but they’re also having trouble with getting new candidates to run.

Redistricting has played a major role in this reality too, something that’s working towards the advantage of Republicans ahead of the midterms. Many House Democrats are facing challenges from GOP candidates who aren’t hesitating to hold them accountable.

All things considered, the general consensus seems to be that the House is a losing place to be for Democrats; therefore, members of the party who are able to spare themselves from the fallout next year are all too eager to do so.

This also means House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has a major problem on her hands. Should House Republicans take back the chamber, Pelosi will no longer be the speaker.

The Rise of House Republicans

Overall, House Republicans are in very good spirits and eager to regain the majority in this chamber.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has also weighed in on the current trends happening in the House of Representatives with so many Democrats departing.

According to the NRCC, Democrats have essentially ensured their own demise by embracing unpopular, disfavored policies, such as open borders, defunding law enforcement, and raising taxes on the public.

Furthermore, congressional Democrats as a whole have chosen to be the footsoldiers for the Biden administration.

This comes in spite of polls showing that significant amounts of Americans have reservations regarding the president’s agenda and its impacts throughout the United States of America.
