It’s no secret that things have been tense between former President Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence, despite them formerly being close allies to one another. The two have not seen eye-to-eye in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election and its outcome.
Trump stated multiple times that Pence should have done more to contest the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. Yet, Pence claims this is wrong and he did all that he could legally do.
Many of the former president’s supporters aren’t buying this and have therefore begun calling Pence a Judas and a traitor. Now, the former vice president is bringing new claims and accusations against Trump, according to Newsbreak.
Strong Claims Against Trump
During a Gridiron Club speech, Pence made the case that Trump’s Christian faith isn’t as real as it appears on the surface. According to the former vice president, when he extended a Bible study invitation to Trump, the latter only took notice of the portions that mentioned waging vengeance on enemies.
Pence then sarcastically alleged that when Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence was raided late last year, authorities managed to come across documents in Trump’s Bible.
Former VP Mike Pence had fighting words for ex-boss Donald Trump. The conservative slammed his former running mate and implied that number 45 isn't a real Christian

In making this claim, the former vice president said due to these documents being in Trump’s Bible, Trump wouldn’t have had any knowledge of them.
Before concluding his remarks at the Gridiron Club, Pence also took aim at Trump’s response to the Capitol demonstrations on January 6.
Backlash Against Pence
The former vice president’s comments about Trump have not been well-received by the supporters of the latter.
Many said it was a low blow for Pence to raise questions about the sincerity of Trump’s Christian faith. Others claimed that the former vice president’s remarks are rooted in his own potential decision to run in the 2024 presidential election.
Right now, polling does not show Pence doing well in a hypothetical 2024 run. Much of the Republican base doesn’t trust the former vice president and agrees with the criticisms Trump has made against him.
"History will hold Donald Trump accountable," Pence said, addressing an audience of politicians and journalist at the Gridiron Club Dinner in Washington, D.C. This was his strongest rebuke to date of the 45th president. (h/t @JakeMRosen) https://t.co/bqi5d7UuPA

In recent months, Pence has hinted at running for president in the upcoming election cycle, yet hasn’t firmly committed to it. When asked by the media, the former vice president previously said this was a matter he would discuss and pray about with his own family.
With Trump running for president, it’s safe to say that he won’t be choosing Pence as his vice president. Some reports indicate that Trump may be considering Arizona Republican Kari Lake as a possible running mate, should he win the 2024 GOP nomination. This article appeared in Watch Dog News and has been published here with permission.
