Almost 400 police officers gathered outside Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
This was before anybody tried to break into the building and kill the gunman who locked himself indoors, according to a new report released on Sunday.
The Horrific Crime
The Texas House committee’s report outlined a number of mistakes, from the shooter’s family’s failure to recognize red flags to the school’s evident habit of leaving gates opened or held open.
The greatest criticism was restrained to police officers who came to the scene and then delayed taking action for more than an hour.
The study openly criticized police officers for refusing to perform in the face of a clear crisis. This made it clear that the greatest blunder wasn’t in a labor shortage or hardware, but in a lack of effective communication at a crucial moment.
“They failed to rescue the lives of many innocent victims for their own security,” the statement says.
On Sunday evening, MSNBC anchor and Politico White House bureau chief Jonathan Lemire tweeted out the following:
“Report: Results suggest over 400 police were at the Uvalde school while they waited to engage gunman,” in response to the study’s findings.

While Uvalde local school cops and municipal sheriff’s deputies have taken a lot of the fire following the shooting, the study stated the vast majority of responders on the site had been state cops (91) and U.S. border agents (149).
The remaining individuals were members of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), U.S. Marshals, and county officials from nearby counties.
“These community officials aren’t the only ones who were anticipated to provide the necessary leadership amid this disaster.”
“The committee stated in its report that “hundreds of aiders from various law enforcement agencies — most of whom were better trained and prepared than the local school police — rapidly arrived on the scene.”
It also stated that any of those officers on the scene “could have aided to confront the unraveling confusion.”
New Regulations?
Three members of the committee, Rep. Joe Moody, D-El Paso, Dustin Burrows, R-Lubbock, and erstwhile state Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman, wrote the report.
It has stated the intention of producing a thorough enough account to assist in formulating new regulations that might prevent such a terrible tragedy from occurring once more.

The deceased, their relatives, and the whole Uvalde town, they claimed, already endured too much waiting for explanations and openness; thus, the committee decided to provide this interim report at this time.
