Florida continues to make the news on an increasingly frequent basis. Last week, Governor Ron DeSantis made national headlines when he signed legislation that effectively prohibits employers from issuing COVID vaccine mandates.
The fight over COVID vaccine mandates is one that DeSantis has never backed down from. In fact, the Florida governor has remained steadfast in his argument that Biden’s medical mandates lack constitutionality and will never be held up by the courts.
Judging from the Federal Appeals Court putting an injunction on Biden’s vaccination order, it appears DeSantis knows what he’s talking about.
Now, Florida is in the news for yet another positive reason. This time, the Sunshine State is making headlines for record numbers of job growth over the past 1.5 years, as Breitbart News attests to.
A Closer Look at Florida’s Job Growth
On Friday, Governor DeSantis revealed the Sunshine State under his leadership has experienced back-to-back job growth over the past 18 months. Throughout the past year, the labor force growth of Florida has risen by 5.8%.
This comes on top of a 0.2% decline in the state’s overall unemployment rate over the past year. Last month, the following sectors in the Sunshine State saw growth to the tune of thousands to tens of thousands of new jobs: business/professional services, utilities/transportation/trade, hospitality/leisure, health/educational services.
In October, Florida created another 44,000 private sector jobs and unemployment continued to decline. Our state’s economy is growing faster than the nation because we keep our businesses open and push back against heavy-handed mandates. pic.twitter.com/eQZIutcDtm

On Friday, the Florida governor explained a key element in the state’s significant job growth has been pushing back against mandates and prioritizing the needs of businesses and individuals.
DeSantis also confirmed Florida will persist with this current course of action in order to keep benefiting the Sunshine State and its residents.
A Win for Fiscal Conservatism
The state of Florida’s economy serves as yet another win for fiscal conservativism. It shows that putting people before mandates is the appropriate way of doing things; it also provides a stark contrast to the economic approach taken by the Biden administration.
Biden’s administration has chosen to place mandates ahead of individuals; although with the ongoing injunction the Federal Appeals Court implemented onto Biden’s vaccine mandate, this may be ending very soon.

At the end of the day, Americans need to be able to work, run their businesses, make a living, and contribute to their communities. Individuals are best equipped to do this when the government gets out of the way.
Quite frankly, the White House would do very well to take a page out of DeSantis’ book. Imagine if the nation’s economy was doing as well as Florida’s economy.
