Former President Donald Trump continues to take hits over his choice to have Kanye West, someone who’s spouted one anti-Semitic talking point after the next, and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes over to his Mar-a-Lago estate for dinner.
Trump has since suggested he was ambushed by Fuentes’ presence there; though a sizable chunk of Americans simply aren’t buying it.
The former president is also under fire for hosting West alone, seeing as West has gone after Jewish individuals, even threatening “Death Con 3 [DEFCON 3]” against them.
As the negative press continues to swarm Trump, he’s released a series of statements on Truth Social that target West, a man whom Trump was once on friendly terms with, per Breitbart News.
Shifting the Blame onto West
In a long-winded Truth Social post, Trump claims that West was invited to his Mar-a-Lago estate so he could provide West with advice. The former president then proceeded to claim that West showed up with three other individuals in tow who weren’t previously approved.
Later, Trump alleged that he advised West against running for president in the 2024 election on the basis that West “can’t win.” Ironically, this is something that many Americans, including some Republicans, have said about Trump himself.

As for West’s version of events, he maintains Trump became enraged after being asked to run with him as vice president. West moreover claims the former president was actually happy to have Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago, contrary to what he’s now publicly declaring.
Damage Control Continues
In yet another Truth Social post, Trump resumes trying to shift the narrative away from him hosting a Holocaust denier and another person who has openly threatened the Jewish community.
The former president alleged that while West was at Mar-a-Lago, he didn’t express any anti-Semitic sentiments. Trump then stated he was happy about West speaking fondly of him during a recent interview he did with Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

This particular Truth Social post wraps up with the former president explicitly claiming he wasn’t aware of who Nick Fuentes was.
The reception to Trump’s comments via Truth Social hasn’t been very positive, to say the least. Many Americans see these tweets as Trump trying to dodge accountability and clean up a PR nightmare.
Others have said the former president needs to exercise more suitable judgment and is capable of vetting who is allowed entry into his own estate.
This newest scandal involving Trump comes on the heels of his announcing his formal candidacy for the 2024 presidential election.
